Description
Deserts are harsh, dry environments where very little rainfall occurs and no natural bodies of water are
found. The deserts found in the United States are not only dry, but also some of the hottest places on earth.
It’s hard to believe that any animals would be able to live in these harsh conditions. The animals that do
survive here have adapted to be able to do four things: avoid heat, get rid of body heat, obtain water, and
retain water.
Our ABC guides are copywork portfolios that allow students to practice their handwriting while learning. Students will learn key facts from A to Z. Also included are several puzzles (with answer keys) and coloring sheets.
Learn more about the extraordinary adaptations that desert animals have developed as well as many more
fascinating facts in the ABC’s of Desert Animals.
